Things You Need to Know About Men’s Fertility and Sexual Health

According to the World Health Organization, 2 million Americans are estimated to be infertile. Although there are plenty of factors that could lead to infertility and delaying ejaculation, the most common ones include certain lifestyle habits, as well as poor sexual health, among others.

Even though infertility is common, this is not to say that it cannot be treated. It is actually quite treatable and there are a number of ways that you can do that. Before anything else, I want to talk first about what affects men’s sexual health.

The Factors

The most common factors that may lead to male infertility include environmental factors, certain lifestyle habits, and physical disorders. Some of the specifics include malnutrition or obesity, stress, alcohol, smoking, and drug use. Additional factors include:

  • Congenital diseases such as hypogonadism and cystic fibrosis
  • Cancer
  • Treatments for cancer such as radiation therapy and chemotherapy
  • Hormone disorders which may be a result of testosterone therapy or genetics
  • Sexually-transmitted diseases
  • Penis disorders such as balanitis, priapism, and phimosis
  • Erectile Dysfunction
  • Testicular disorders such as Testicular Torsion
  • Prostate Disorders such as prostate cancer
  • Injury, especially within the area of the penis
  • Surgery
  • Exposure to Herbicides and Radiation
  • And many more

How to Treat This?
So, how do you treat and improve male sexual health? Here are the things that you can do:

1.Control Your Weight

Obesity or being overweight, in general, can have an impact on your ability to hold an erection. This is also compounded by the fact that if you have a 40-inch waistline, then you are in for much higher risk (cardiovascular disease).

2.Be Physically Active

One of the reasons why erectile dysfunction occurs is due to poor overall circulation in your body. Being physically active by adding both aerobic and weightlifting exercises to your everyday regimen can help with blood circulation and weight control as well.

I encourage you to have at least 3 hours of collective exercise per week so that you will maximize the circulation in your body.

3.Eat Healthily

What you eat can always have an overall impact on your health, especially when it comes to your sexual performance.
Having a balanced diet ensures that you’re going to be healthy for a very long time. Eat more proteins, vegetables, fruits, and whole grains so that you can get the entire spectrum of nutrients your body needs to survive (and also, to help you with your sexual performance).

4.Cope with Stress

Another common factor when it comes to erectile dysfunction is stress. When we are stressed, our body undergoes changes that will lead to your inability to hold an erection.

You have to define your own coping strategies so that you will be able to deal with the stresses in your life.
